The George Telegraph Training Institute Kolkata

The George Telegraph Training Institute commenced operations in 1920 and since then it has been dedicated to the empowerment of youth through training in vocational trades. As a pioneer in the field, the Institute quickly gained a formidable reputation and its excellence in training was recognized by diverse authorities like the British Army, the Indian Defence Forces, Maritime Authorities and the British Railway Board.

Its vast experience in vocational education has resulted in a standardised syllabi and methodology that is structured and yet flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of the industries. The Institute can boast of its highly qualified team of teachers who work relentlessly towards giving students the best training possible. Personality development and grooming sessions are organized for the students so that they have an edge when they face interviews. In addition, it also provides various employment oriented supplementary training in English language and personality development so that on completion of their courses the students are ready for employment and are confident about their skill in the chosen field.

The Institute also undertakes various employee training and assessment programmes for external organisations, within its campuses or off-campus, as per demand.

The George Telegraph Training Institute is, at present imparting training to more than 25,000 students in more than 50 centres located in West Bengal, Agartala, Assam & Odisha. The Main Centre is at 136, B. B. Ganguly Street, Kolkata. The objective behind the expansion is to reach the fruits of its unique vocational curriculum to the most needed in the non-metropolitan areas.

The Institute is a training partner of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). NSDC is a non-profit Company under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India. The courses available at all centres are NSDC affiliated.
